Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
Sierra Pool & Spa Repair has been family owned & operated since 1985. We specialize in hot tub, spa & swimming pool equipment repair and upgrades. There are so many types of services that a company can do but can they really specialize if they are not focusing in one specialty area of their trade? Our trucks are fully stocked with common parts to complete most repairs on the first service call. That’s how Sierra Pool & Spa Repair separates itself from the rest of the industry. We at Sierra Pool & Spa Repair are an honest, professional company with integrity. Customer service has always been our number one priority.
What do you like most about your job?
Working the the wonderful people of the Ozark’s. I have always enjoyed fixing things even as a child. When the opportunity to get into the swimming pool, hot tub & spa industry, I knew that this would be something I would enjoy. I get satisfaction to see a customer excited that their once broken hot tub, spa or swimming pool is working again.
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What’s your answer?
Is it better to set my spa, hot tub thermostat to one temperature and leave it or is it best to set it only when I know I will be using it? My answer is always set it to one temperature and leave it so the spa, hot tub is always ready to use no matter what time of day. The heater has to work harder if you are always having to raise the temperature up several degrees. The only time I would advise not leaving it set to a comfortable temperature would be if you are only using the spa, hot tub once a month and you plan your usage ahead.
If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
It is always best to hire someone based on their expertise. Just because a company is in a particular trade, does not mean they are an expert in everything pertaining to that trade. You would not have your auto detailer fix a problem with your car; you would take it to a mechanic. Take doctors for instance. We have medical doctors that treat for basic medical needs then there are several specialists in their trades like pediatricians and surgeons. Hire those who specialize in one particular area.
What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
We are an honest, knowledgeable, and professional company with integrity. We are family owned and operated. Customer service has always been our number one priority.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
I always advise to look for references & testimonials. As a consumer myself, I too find it a challenge at times, to find honest, reputable & professional companies. I have found that you get more personalized service from a smaller family owned business.
What important information should buyers have before seeking you out? For example, someone looking to have their room painted should know how big the room is, whether or not the ceiling requires painting, if there is trimming or crown moldings, etc.
If the brand name of the spa, hot tub can be provided, it is always very helpful. Same thing goes for swimming pool repairs, if you can provide the brand name of the equipment that is failing is always helpful.
How did you decide to get in your line of work?
My father was in the industry, so I started out working under him. I have always enjoyed taking things apart and fixing it. As a child I was always fixing something and putting it back together.
What are your most common types of jobs?
Hot tub and spa heater issues and the pumps not operating. We are starting to see more interest in swimming pool salt & energy saving systems.
Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
I am constantly attending trade seminars & shows. Technology is constantly changing and the one way we keep up is attending educational seminars and trade shows.
What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
I think the latest developments are the salt pool systems. I believe with the cost of chlorine steadily rising and the advantages of salt swimming pools that we will see a rise in the coming years of more salt pool systems being installed.
